Dr. Wirstiuk is a Licensed Psychologist in the Department of Behavioral Psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University and a Master of Arts and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in clinical child from Loma Linda University. Dr. Wirstiuk completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University.
She serves as a pediatric psychologist within the Inpatient Pediatric Psychology Rehabilitation Service and Inpatient Chronic Pain and Functional Rehabilitation Program at Kennedy Krieger Institute and serves as a co-facilitator for the Comfort Ability Program Workshop. Additionally, she provides consultation/liaison services at Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital providing inpatient treatment to a broad variety of patient populations and treatment needs. Dr. Wirstiuk also provides training and supervision to pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows in pediatric psychology. Clinical and research interests include pediatric rehabilitation, chronic pain and functional neurological conditions, and cystic fibrosis.
Dr. Wirstiuk is a professional member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP). She holds leadership positions in several SPP Special Interest Groups (SIG), including Co-Chair of the Rehabilitation Medicine SIG Education Committee.
