Elizabeth Strehlow, PT, DPT is a seasoned physical therapist who earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012. She began her career in acute inpatient rehabilitation, where she spent nine years honing her clinical skills. Currently, Elizabeth serves as a Senior Physical Therapist at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly RIC) in the Day Rehabilitation setting.
Specializing in neurology, Elizabeth has developed a particular interest in working with bariatric patients. She is dedicated to advancing therapy services for this population across a wide range of diagnoses, with a focus on improving functional mobility. Elizabeth is also deeply involved in staff development and mentoring, specifically in safe patient handling practices for bariatric patients. Her commitment to research is evident in her recent publication of a retrospective study examining patient outcomes based on BMI categories, which contributes to the growing body of knowledge in this area.
In addition to her clinical work, Elizabeth has taken an interest in pain management education over the past two years. She is passionate about helping patients achieve their mobility goals and providing them with the tools they need to live more independent and functional lives. Elizabeth has also served as a clinical instructor and continues to mentor both students and in-house staff, fostering the growth and development of the next generation of physical therapists.
