Rev. Joseph A. Medearis is an ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) with extensive experience in church leadership and pastoral care. He currently serves as the Chaplain for Brooks Rehabilitation, providing spiritual support to patients throughout their recovery journey. Previously, he pastored Arlington & Peace Presbyterian Churches for nearly a decade and worked in campus ministry, hospital chaplaincy, and skilled nursing settings.
Rev. Medearis holds a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of North Florida. He is Board Certified in Chaplaincy. His expertise includes working as part of clinical teams in acute care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation settings.
Beyond his professional roles, Rev. Medearis is deeply committed to community service. As a Shriner, he actively supports Shriners Hospitals for Children. He has spent the last eight years fostering interfaith partnerships in Northeast Florida and has served on the Mutual Mission Committee, strengthening ties between the Presbytery of St. Augustine and the Presbytery of Matanzas in Cuba. Additionally, he has been a board member of Arlington Community Services, aiding thousands of individuals in need.
