My research has predominantly focused on examining unemployment and financial strain among survivors of intensive care unit (ICU) stays and individuals with Long COVID. I employ a multi-method approach that integrates advanced statistical modeling, survey design, and big data analysis—leveraging longitudinal datasets, administrative claims, and primary data collection. This work seeks to uncover the complex, bidirectional relationships between critical illness, prolonged symptoms, and social determinants such as employment instability, income loss, and access to benefits. By identifying key predictors of economic vulnerability and barriers to workforce reintegration, my research informs the development of targeted interventions and policies aimed at improving long-term outcomes for these medically complex populations.
