Alison (Ali) Rigby is a neurosciences graduate student at the University of California, San Diego working with Drs. Terry L. Jernigan, Anders M. Dale, and Bradley Voytek. Her careers as a neurobiologist at Merck Research Laboratories and a board-certified music therapist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia shape her interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, music, language, and infant development. Her dissertation work focuses on modeling early brain development and emerging language skills in infants to identify risk factors for developmental language disorders, leveraging population neuroscience and computational approaches. Driven by a passion for translational science, she aims to bridge basic neuroscience and clinical practice to improve outcomes for children at risk for neurodevelopmental disorders.
