I-Jou Chi, PhD, is an occupational therapist and researcher specializing in pediatric rehabilitation at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei, Taiwan. She holds a PhD in Brain Science (2025), an MS in Occupational Therapy from National Cheng Kung University (2020), and a BS from Chung Shan Medical University (2018). Certified in occupational therapy (Taiwan, 2018) and assistive technology, Chi focuses on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and neurodevelopmental interventions.
At Tao-Yuan General Hospital (2020–2021), Chi designed sensory integration and adaptive skill interventions for children with neurological conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance functional outcomes. As an adjunct instructor at Minghsin University (2021), she taught early childhood intervention strategies. Her research on autism brain trajectories, published in Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences (2025) and American Journal of Occupational Therapy (2022), uses neuroimaging to inform personalized rehabilitation. Chi has presented at INSAR (2022–2024) and Neuroscience (2022, 2024), earning the Taiwan Occupational Therapy Association’s Best Oral Presenter award (2022).
Her international research includes collaborations at the University of Toronto, NIH, and Imperial College London, focusing on autism neuroimaging and brain stimulation. Awards include the National Innovation Award (2024) and NYCU’s Biomedical Thesis Competition First Place (2024). A member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, Chi advances pediatric rehabilitation through innovative research to optimize outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental challenges.
