Albert C. Yang, MD, PhD, is a Professor and Chair of the School of Medicine at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taipei, Taiwan, and an attending physician in the Medical Research Department at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He earned his MD (2002) and PhD (2011) from National Yang Ming University. A board-certified psychiatrist and sleep medicine specialist, Yang’s work focuses on neuroimaging and digital health solutions for psychiatry, neurodegeneration disease, and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Yang’s clinical experience spans psychiatry and sleep medicine, with roles at Taipei Veterans General Hospital (2005–present) and Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (2002–2004). His research leverages advanced neuroimaging and AI to map brain developmental trajectories, informing personalized rehabilitation strategies for ASD. Notable publications include studies on brain complexity in autism (Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, 2025). He has mentored interdisciplinary teams, guiding projects like the ACRM 2025 abstract on IQ-stratified neurodevelopmental patterns in autism.
Yang’s accolades include the National Innovation Award (2020, 2021), Future Tech Breakthrough Award (2019, 2024), and Yushan Young Scholar (2019, 2024). He serves as Associate Editor for npj Digital Medicine and BMC Psychiatry, and chairs the Research and Exchange Committee of the Global Consortium of Innovation and Engineering in Medicine. A member of the ENIGMA Consortium, Yang advances pediatric rehabilitation through AI-driven diagnostics and precision interventions, enhancing functional outcomes for neurodevelopmental conditions.
