Xinyi Zhang (celine) is a doctoral student in Rehabilitation Counseling Education at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she also earned her master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. She brings a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary lens to her clinical, teaching, and research endeavors. Her clinical experience crosses international contexts, including work as a psychotherapist and EAP counselor in both China and the United States, with a focus on multicultural counseling, CBT, and group facilitation. Her research focuses on disability, mental health, and cultural influences on psychological well-being. She has contributed to numerous projects exploring topics such as workplace microaggressions, resilience, and acculturative stress, particularly among individuals with spinal cord injuries and Asian American college students with disabilities.
