Scott E. Brown, MD, MA is Chairman Emeritus Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and for Lifebridge Health, and Emeritus Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Institute at Sinai. He is board certified in PM&R and electrodiagnostic medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale and medical degree from Rutgers, and completed postgraduate internship training in surgery at New York University/Bellevue Hospital, and his PM&R residency at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He is clinical professor in the department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine, and assistant clinical professor of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine at Yale. Dr. Brown is director of the comprehensive limb loss rehabilitation program at the Rehabilitation Institute at Sinai. He is the official biographer of jazz pianist/composer James P. Johnson. His new biography of Johnson is scheduled for release by the University Press of Mississippi in January, 2026.
