I am Vice Chair, Division of Data Science and Rehabilitation Analytics in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I hold a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. I am Assistant Director for Data Science in the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL)- a joint venture between Pitt and the VA and serve as Co-director for the data center and Informatics Core of the NIH HEAL initiative at the University of Pittsburgh. I obtained my doctorate in Research Methodology from the University of Pittsburgh, concentrating on advanced statistical methods. At Pitt, I lead an interdisciplinary team, comprised of data scientists, computer scientists, medical doctors, & biostatisticians and we are dedicated to advancing research and innovation in rehabilitation medicine. We have partnered with over 20 investigators on more than 40 projects in the past 7 years, supported by prestigious VA and NIH funding. Our work bridges the gap between data science and clinical practice, driving impactful outcomes in patient care and rehabilitation research .Prior to my academic career, I led the healthcare marketing industry in using statistical methods and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to design service utilization, cost-savings, and capacity planning models in both the payor and provider space.
