Senior Project Coordinator
Youth for National Development (JDN), Timor-Leste (East Timor)
Alianca Fernandes is originally from Lautem Municipality which in the east part of East Timor. She is a fresh graduated in Petroleum Engineering department at Dili Institute of Technology (DIT). Currently she is enrolling in a youth organization called Youth for National Development as a senior project coordinator for Young People with Disability and Safe Transport especially for the public transport “microlet”. She is a peer leader and educator with JDN (Youth for National Development), working to educate and empower young people with disabilities in Timor-Leste. She works to eliminate discrimination against Persons with Disabilities and safety of passengers using public transportation to go to school, workplaces. She wants to achieve her goals through creating change for people to lives in harmony, have equal treatment and opportunity to access education, jobs regardless to their disabilities, race, religion, and feel safe to access any public transportation in Timor-Leste.
