Jorge Candiotti, Ph.D. is a Research Biomedical Engineer at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL), an affiliation between the Department of Veterans Affairs, the University of Pittsburgh, and UPMC. He is also an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Candiotti earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering (2010) and Ph.D. in Health and Rehabilitation Science (2017) from the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on robotic wheelchairs, wheelchair instrumentation, human-robot interaction, and rehabilitation engineering, with a commitment to developing innovative mobility assistive technology to enhance safety and accessibility for individuals with mobility impairments when navigating challenging environments.
