I am a Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Affiliated Clinical Faculty for Stanford Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program. I am the Medical Director of the Polytrauma Network Site (PNS) at the Veterans Administration in Palo Alto providing outpatient clinical care to those with rehabilitation needs due traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other traumatic injuries. The Polytrauma Network Site (PNS) is one of 23 facilities nationwide designed to provide long-term rehabilitative care to Veterans and Service Members with both combat and civilian related traumatic brain injury (TBI) and polytrauma. The majority of patients we serve have a diagnosis of mild-moderate TBI . As of 7/2018 we been designated as one of 5 sites in the country as a headache center of excellence (HCOE). As such we are charged with providing state of the art care for veterans with TBI and headaches via an interdisciplinary team approach that emphasizes non-pharmacologic options including cognitive behavioral therapy, physical modalities, novel devices and interventions. I am the co-lead of the HCOE. I have Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation.
