Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Christie Yao is a clinical neuropsychologist and psychologist, specializing in rehabilitation psychology. She is a staff psychologist at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and works within an inpatient interdisciplinary team supporting individuals with traumatic and nontraumatic spinal cord injury. In addition to clinical work, she is involved in program development and supervision of psychology residents and practicum students. Her areas of research interest include cognitive aging and intraindividual variability as a functional biomarker of brain health. Dr. Yao received her doctorate from York University and completed a pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Hospital/Icahn School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
