Dr. Nicolaas van den Heever, a native of South Africa, has over 35 years of experience in occupational therapy, specializing in areas such as neuromuscular and cognitive rehabilitation, wellness, and aging in place. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Stellenbosch and his doctorate from the University of Saint Augustine. Dr. van den Heever has served as the founding dean and program director for multiple occupational therapy programs and has held leadership roles at Alvarado Hospital, Casa Colina, and Tenet Healthcare. A frequent national and international speaker, he received a prestigious award in 2014 for his contributions to the field of occupational therapy.
