Alayna Rowell is a speech-language pathologist and current doctoral student at Case Western Reserve University. As a clinician and a researcher, she values community-informed practice and interdisciplinary viewpoints. She aims to elucidate medical decision-making processes for dysphagia management through clinical-translational research. Her research interests include investigating volitional and reflexive swallow physiology and identifying disordered patterns with a current focus on sensorimotor changes in aging, neurodegeneration, and systemic disease.
