Jed N. McGiffin, PhD is a clinical and research psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washington Medical Center. He is clinically specialized in rehabilitation psychology, working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. McGiffin’s research involves the application of statistical modeling procedures, including network psychometrics and trajectory modeling, to improve scientific understanding of rehabilitation issue. Specifically, his research focuses on understanding the psychological process of adapting to a new disability, with an emphasis on determinates of resilience and positive adjustment outcomes. He obtained his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University, under the mentorship of Dr. George Bonanno. He completed a 1-year predoctoral psychology residency and a 2-year research fellowship at Rusk Rehabilitation, NYU Langone Health, and was the recipient of the 2022 Nacy Crewe Award for research excellence awarded at the 24th Annual Rehabilitation Psychology Conference.
