Mark Bayley is Program Medical Director & Physiatrist-in-Chief at UHN-Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. He is a Professor and Division Director at the University of Toronto in the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Temerty Faculty of Medicine. He holds the Coriat Family Research Chair in Rehabilitation Innovations. He is actively involved in research to promote neurological recovery after concussion, stroke and brain injury. He is also very interested in implementing evidence at a health system in the areas of stroke and brain injury initially through development of stroke rehabilitation guidelines of the Canadian Stroke strategy, a smartphone app to determine post stroke arm rehabilitation (www.viatherapy.org). He has also led evidence reviews (https://erabi.ca ) and guidelines for concussion, traumatic brain injury (www.braininjuryguidelines.org) and cognitive rehabilitation (INCOG 2.0 guidelines.). Mark holds a number of system leadership roles including Chair of the Rehabilitation Care Alliance of Ontario and the Neurotrauma Pathways project (https://www.neurotraumapathways.ca/ ). His work has helped to redesign rehabilitation systems in Canada and internationally.
