Founder, Neuro Optometrist
VUE Cubed Vision Therapy Clinic, Canada
Dr. Quaid founded VUE Cubed Vision Therapy Clinics out of a personal passion for visual rehabilitation, having experienced the academic impact of a severe traumatic brain injury at age eight. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and as President of the College of Optometrists of Ontario (Jan 2020–Jan 2021). With a PhD in Vision Science (2006), postdoctoral training at York University, and a USA Neuro-Visual Rehabilitation Board Certification (FCOVD, 2011), Dr. Quaid has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning topics like oculomotor dysfunction in pediatric reading and vision impairment following concussion, as well as glaucoma research in *IOVS*. In 2020, he co-authored a landmark book chapter on visual dysfunction in concussion with Dr. Eric Singman (Johns Hopkins) and later received an Award of Excellence in concussion research from the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. A prolific lecturer with over 850 presentations worldwide, Dr. Quaid is committed to translating clinical data into action, securing federal funding for ongoing research, and making his insights accessible—including through his book *Learning to See is Seeing to Learn* (12,000+ copies sold). His lectures are known for impactful real-case videos and a focus on demystifying complex neuro-visual concepts to empower effective rehabilitation in both pediatric and concussion-related visual dysfunction.
