Mariia Toropchyna, MD, is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician with extensive experience in clinical practice, project management, and academic roles. Dr.Toropchyna has held significant positions, including Project Manager for the Ukrainian Norwegian Rehabilitation Project since June 2023 , and as a PM&R physician at Bila Tserkva Rehabilitation Neurological Department and Bila Tserkva City Hospital 2. Dr. Toropchyna also served as a Combat Medic for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from March 2022 to May 2023. The leadership experience includes serving as Department Head of the Pediatric Acute Rehabilitation Department at the National Specialized Children Hospital OHMATDYT from January 2019 to October 2021 , where she also worked as a PM&R physician. Academically, she was a Research Assistant at Bogomolets National Medical University, Department of Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation from September 2017 to June 2018. Dr. Toropchyna earned the MD degree with Summa cum laude from Bogomolets National Medical University in June 2016 , and completed PM&R Fellowship at Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education in May 2018. Dr. Toropchyna has received numerous grants and achievements, including being a lead expert in neurological rehabilitation for the Ukrainian National Stroke Rehabilitation Guidelines of the MOH Working Group (March 2025) , and a coauthor of a research project from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (March 2025). The international recognition includes winning the International Society of PM&R 2020 General Grant (November 2019).
