Associate Professor
Indiana University School of Medicine
I am an Associate Professor for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Indiana University School of Medicine. In the department, I work as a Principal Investigator, Co-investigator, study statistician, and data scientist on our studies. I also work with the Foundation to Advance Brain Injury Research (FABR) as the data scientist. I received my doctoral degree in Biomedical Informatics from Rutgers University, a master’s degree from Purdue University in Applied Statistics, and a Master’s from Arizona State University in Clinical Research. I am also an active member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) where I co-chair the Ethnicity and Diversity task force within the Brain Injury Special Interest Group (BI-ISIG). I have authored several referenced publications and presented brain injury research results to national and international audiences. I believe my experience is well-suited for this proposal. My research has employed both prospective research and clinical trials as well as retrospective data mining and data science primarily focused in brain injury. Specific areas of research include predictive modeling outcome trajectories, chronic brain injury, access to care and unmet needs, racial and ethnic disparities to care, coping and self-efficacy, community participation, chronic pain, alexithymia, and emotion regulation.
