Dr Smith is uniquely trained as a general dentist with a PhD in biostatistics and additional training in dental public health and teaching. He has worked across the oral health care industry with clinical experience in private practice, dental service organizations, hospital clinics, public health, and safety net clinics. This clinical work is complemented by his extensive research program focusing on, but not limited to, the oral complications of head and neck cancers, and the proper application of advanced statistical methodologies in clinical research. He has extensive experience in a wide array of clinical research including clinical trials, observational studies, and retrospective research.
