Grounded in health and performance, I strive to integrate holistic approaches to current fitness protocols with people of all kinds along the fitness spectrum and their goals. My current interest is in peak athletic performance and injury mitigation by implementing fitness regimens that work for both athletes and recreational individuals, instead of the usual dogmatic prescription. I am particularly focused on furthering my academic understanding of the deeper inner-workings of musculoskeletal movement, injury preventative exercise, performance maximization, and the use of wearable technologies.
Experience as a research and teachers assistant has given me the aim of improving the gap between students and teachers in the exercise physiology field. As a TA I regularly assist students in finding ways to better understand material. This has shown me the value of in-depth and interactive teaching. As my scholarship continues, I am striving to maintain this method of integrative understanding through whatever means necessary to benefit the student. My interests in scholarship are currently in the study of biomechanical impact forces and specifically apply to posturography within professional and tactical athletes, and in the general population. My research is currently focused on the use of wearable technologies to track these biomechanical forces. I have a passion for better understanding how these forces relate to performance maintenance and injury mitigation in exercising populations.
