Erik Hoyer, MD is an Associate Professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, with a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine. He specializes in hospital-based rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG). As Vice Chair for Quality, Safety, and Service, Dr. Hoyer leads efforts to improve patient safety across Johns Hopkins Health System. He is also the co-founder and Director of Innovation for the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (AMP) program, which promotes safe patient mobility in hospitals. In addition to his clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Hoyer is actively involved in research focused on quality improvement and health services, with over 50 peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding supporting his work.
