Dr. Rachna Bhavesh Bangdiwala is a board-certified Podiatric physician and surgeon specializing in advanced wound care, limb salvage, and comprehensive foot and ankle care. From 2022 to June 2025, she served as an Attending Physician in the Department of Surgery at Northwell Health’s Plainview Hospital, where she worked in both the Hyperbaric and Wound Care Center and the Podiatry Clinic. During her tenure, she treated a broad spectrum of conditions ranging from pediatric foot deformities and sports injuries to complex diabetic complications in geriatric patients. She also held an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Dr. Bangdiwala completed her three-year surgical residency (PMSR/RRA) at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident, gaining extensive experience in diabetic limb salvage, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma care, and interdisciplinary wound management. Her academic background includes a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and a Bachelor of Science with major in Natural Sciences and Emergency Medicine (Cum Laude with Honors) from the University of Pittsburgh, along with certifications as a paramedic and emergency medicine technician. Earlier in her career, she earned a Bachelor’s in Commerce and a Montessori teaching diploma in Mumbai, India.
Dr. Bangdiwala is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is licensed to practice in New York. She has contributed to the field through clinical research and scholarly publications on topics such as surgical correction of macrodactyly, Lapidus bunionectomy outcomes, and cancer prevalence in female podiatric surgeons. Her dedication has earned her several honors, including the Northwell Health Truly Award nomination (2025) and the Heroes of Podiatry Award (2020).
Beyond her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Bangdiwala is passionate about community health and education. She has led and participated in numerous outreach initiatives and continues to mentor emerging healthcare professionals. Fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi, she brings a multicultural and compassionate approach to patient care and professional collaboration.
