Director
Tim and Caroline Reynolds Center for Spinal Stimulation, Kessler Foundation
Dr. Forrest is Director of the Tim and Caroline Reynolds Center for Spinal Stimulation, Associate Director of the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering, and Director of the Neural Plasticity Laboratory at Kessler Foundation. She is a leader in neuromodulation research, investigating the effects of transcutaneous and epidural stimulation of the spinal cord to enhance motor recovery after spinal cord injury. Her work has advanced understanding of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal mechanisms underlying rehabilitation, with applications to chronic pain, spasticity, bowel and bladder dysfunction, and secondary complications of spinal cord injury. She has directed more than 20 federally funded clinical trials, including studies of peripheral and spinal stimulation and exoskeleton interventions. Dr. Forrest also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
