Chief of Neuropsychology (ret)
Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center
I have worked in the field of Traumatic Brain Injury rehabilitation for over 40 years beginning during my initial graduate training during my Master’s program. I have been the Chief/Director of Neuropsychology at the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center (KFRC) for 24 years and the Regional Lead for Neuropsychology Services for Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC). At KFRC, I directed all Rehabilitation Neuropsychology services and I was the Co-Director of our Brain Injury Program. As Regional Lead, I oversaw all Kaiser Permanente Neuropsychology services across Northern California. I co-chaired the Kaiser Permanente NCAL TBI Research Group. In addition, I am on the Board of Directors of the Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery, a community-based non-profit organization that provides rehabilitation services to individuals with acquired brain injuries. I also serve on the Board of the San Francisco Neurological Society. At the national level, I am on the Mild TBI Task Force of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine developing an updated standardized definition of mTBI that will apply across the age span (infants through older adults). I also previously served on the KPNC Regional Sports Related Concussion Workgroup and was on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of California (2013-2015). Prior to my employment at Kaiser Permanente in 1998, I was the Lead TBI Neuropsychologist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the Neuropsychologist for their TBI Model Systems Program.
