Abigail Schoenherr, PT, DPT
Abigail is originally from Vandalia, OH where she graduated as Salutatorian of her class at Vandalia Butler High school. She then competed as a division one collegiate cross country and track athlete at Eastern Kentucky University, where she graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor of science in exercise science. Abigail recently become a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During her time at the University of Cincinnati, Abigail developed a strong foundation in physical therapy principles and practices, including manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription, with a drive to pursue a pediatric position following graduation. Abigail expanded her skillset through her work within the University of Cincinnati PT Pro Bono Clinic as a treating therapist and operations coordinator and her contributions to the Can Restore Function Cancer Related Fatigue Study as a research assistant. Driven by a desire to help children reach their potential through play, growth and exploration, Abigail is eager to apply her passion for pediatrics, didactic knowledge, and clinical skillset in her position as a pediatric physical therapist at Children’s Health Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Abigail’s clinical experiences at Mobility Fit Physical Therapy (Beavercreek, OH), Novacare Rehabilitation (Florence, KY), Miami Valley Hospital (Dayton, OH), and Dayton Children’s Hospital (Dayton, OH) provided valuable hands-on learning in treating diverse patient populations within outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, adult acute care, and pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings. She gained experience within pediatric physical therapy and honed her ability to adapt therapeutic exercise and manual therapy to best fit pediatric populations. She utilized therapeutic play, manual techniques, and parent education to foster growth and help children reach their potential.
Inspired by her volunteer experience with children with disabilities, her professional experience as a student physical therapist, and her passion to find healing through movement, Abigail is dedicated to helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and empowering them to live healthier, fuller lives. Abigail is honored to have been apart of the Cancer Related Fatigue study while a student at the University of Cincinnati and is excited to utilize that experience to excel in her career as a pediatric acute care physical therapist.
