Lora Cavuoto is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University at Buffalo (UB). She received her PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2012 with a focus on industrial ergonomics. At UB she is Director of the Ergonomics and Biomechanics Laboratory and the Occupational Safety and Health Traineeship. She is a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) with more than 13 years of applied ergonomics and safety experience. Her research has been funded by NIOSH, NIH, the DoD, MxD, and local industry. She serves as a Scientific Editor for the Applied Ergonomics journal, is an academic member on the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education, and is a member of the Ergonomics in Surgery Committee for the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
