Ms. Capraro was a staff member of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab for twenty years. During her tenure there, she was a vocational rehabilitation counselor and eventually worked as manager of the program. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the center’s vocational professionals, who provide employment services at eight of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab’s sites of care. She was also responsible for overseeing the department’s GED program, which provides educational programming to people who have sustained spinal cord injuries.
Ms. Capraro is certified rehabilitation counselor. She received her Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling from IIT, a certificate in Disability Ethics from the University of Illinois and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Roosevelt University. Ms. Capraro has over thirty years of experience working with people with disabilities.
