Lisa Tabor Connor, PhD, MSOT, OTR/L is the Elias Michael Professor and Associate Dean for Occupational Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Professor Connor’s laboratory focuses on the biopsychosocial determinants of recovery from stroke and the ability of people to reintegrate into their communities. The overarching goal of this work is to create evidence-based, targeted interventions to enable people post-stroke to participate more fully in community life. With her background as a cognitive psychologist and work as an occupational therapy researcher, she has placed particular emphasis in her investigations on understanding how cognition, language, mental health and social support affect real-world performance and participation in people who experience life disruptions due to neurological disease.
