Marie. Saxon is a Senior speech-language pathologist in the Outpatient Neurological Center at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, IL. She also holds a master's degree in cognitive psychology from Villanova University. Prior to becoming a SLP, she worked in clinical. neurology research at the Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease at Northwestern University for 4 years. Her primary interests are in acquired cognitive-communication disorders and cognitive rehabilitation. In addition to her clinical work, she has an interest in clinical research and medical writing. She is co-author of 6 publications, most recently on cognitive rehabilitation for individuals with long COVID published in the Archives of PM&R. She leads efforts within the outpatient clinic to establish evidence-based practice for treatment of long COVID, and has presented yearly at Northwestern's Comprehensive Covid Center support group to increase patient education.
