In my role as a clinical research coordinator in the division of pediatric rehabilitation medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, I have extensive experience working on each aspect of this project examining mental health outcomes following mTBI in adolescents and associated factors. I aided with study design and analysis for the quantitative approach, recruited participants, facilitated focus groups, and extracted themes for the qualitative approach, and completed a majority of article reviews and result analysis for the systematic literature review approach. I have also aided in manuscript writing and editing for each approach.
For a separate prospective aim of this project, I have significant experience recruiting adolescents aged 11-17 who have recently experience a mTBI. I aided in the study design of this project and have experience examining preliminary data and presenting this data to study team members and sponsors.
In addition to this work, I have examined mental health outcomes in early and middle childhood, presenting this work at the International Neuropsychology Society conference in 2024. I have continued to expand this work through an in-progress manuscript examining the effects of mTBI in middle childhood (5-12 years old) on mental health outcomes in high school (14-19 years old) compared to typically developing (TD) and orthopedic injury (OI) children.
