Abbreviated Bio: Kerri Morgan, PhD, OTR/L, is an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy and Neurology and the Director of Research in the Program in Occupational Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Morgan is a licensed and certified occupational therapist and rehabilitation scientist with expertise in clinical research methods, disability, physical activity, assistive devices, complex intervention development, implementation science, and community-engaged research. The focus of her clinical and research career has been to generate empirical knowledge helpful for guiding rehabilitation to improve the participation of persons with a mobility disability once they have been discharged from rehabilitation and are living in the community. Her work has ranged from community-based studies to basic mechanistic studies focused on increasing physical activity, preventing secondary health conditions, and improving overall health for persons using wheelchairs for everyday mobility. In addition, she is deeply involved in the community through boards and service working with disability organizations to promote health and wellness for people with disabilities. Dr. Morgan is also an avid wheelchair athlete and distinguished three-time Paralympian.
