Noralyn Pickens, PhD, OT, FAOTA, FNAP, is Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education and Strategic Initiatives for the College of Health Science and College of Nursing at Texas Woman's University. She has expertise and leadership conducting mixed-methods and qualitative research and is a team leader with strong organizational skills and a network of colleagues around the country with mutual practice and research interests. Her background in participatory research provides strong foundation for collaborative science. Her interest in participation is reflected in her research in end-of-life care and in-place living for people with disabilities across the lifespan. Recent NIDILRR funded research focused on exploration of consumer needs for livening independently with chronic health conditions to develop assessment strategies, protocols, and teams to implement best practices in consumer education, assistive technology, environmental modification, and community support resources.
