Jessica Engle, D.O. is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained cancer rehabilitation physician who provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to individuals across the cancer continuum. Dr. Engle practices in the Baltimore metropolitan area and Washington, D.C., where she focuses on managing impairments related to cancer and its treatment with the goal of maximizing function and improving quality of life.
Dr. Engle completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stony Brook University, followed by specialized fellowship training in Cancer Rehabilitation at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her clinical expertise includes the management of cancer-related pain, neuromuscular complications, cognitive impairments, lymphedema, and functional decline associated with cancer and its therapies.
Dr. Engle is actively engaged in academic and professional service. She is a member of the Cognitive Rehabilitation Task Force of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Cancer Rehabilitation Physician Consortium of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She regularly presents at national conferences, with recent case reports and presentations on topics such as cancer-related cognitive impairment, paraneoplastic syndromes, lymphedema, and rehabilitation strategies in complex oncologic cases.
Through her clinical practice, teaching, and national leadership, Dr. Engle is advancing the field of cancer rehabilitation with a focus on personalized, evidence-based, and functionally restorative care.
