Maya Smith is a graduate student at the University of Illinois-Chicago pursuing an Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in communications and Jewish Studies with a minor in business management, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to her approach in a healthcare setting. Maya is particularly interested in pediatric occupational therapy and engages in research that informs evidence-based, clinical research in pediatrics.

Maya recently participated in a Rehabilitation Measures Database project in partnership with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to contribute to and support evidence-based occupational therapy assessments. She is passionate about ensuring assessments are usable, evidence-based, and accessible to occupational therapists across the world.
