Natalie A. Williams, Ph.D., directs the Translational Health Psychology Research Center within the Institute for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals. She earned a dual Ph.D. in clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Williams completed an APA-accredited clinical psychology internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, followed by postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Williams has held faculty appointments at multiple universities and is an award-winning teacher and researcher in the area of family adaptation to chronic illness and injury. She publishes in the areas of stress and coping in medical rehabilitation settings, with a focus on personality and social processes affecting well-being of caregivers and individuals with physical disabilities and chronic conditions. Dr. Williams’ current research focuses on psychological co-morbidities and interventions to address the mental health needs of individuals living with Long COVID.
