Dr. Fransiska M. Bossuyt is a group leader and lecturer at the Laboratory for Movement Biomechanics at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, where she leads investigations into shoulder health. Her research focuses on the role of scapular morphology and loading conditions in the development of soft-tissue injuries, with the goal of advancing methods for injury prevention and treatment.
Dr. Bossuyt holds a BSc and MSc in Physical Education and Movement Sciences from Ghent University, as well as an MSc in Clinical and Sports Biomechanics from Liverpool John Moores University. She completed her PhD at the University of Lucerne, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Calgary.
In her field, Dr. Bossuyt is active as a board member of the International Shoulder Group and serves as co-chair of the COVID-19 Taskforce and Awards Officer within the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. Beyond her research, she is committed to promoting inclusion as a para-coach and Head of Inclusion at the Lucerne Regatta.
