Lauren Mitchell PT, DPT, graduated from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Lauren has been a licensed Physical Therapist for 10 years providing care in various settings, such as acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehab. Lauren is employed at TIRR Memorial Hermann Inpatient Rehab (TIRR MH IPR) as a level III Physical Therapist on the SCI and Specialty Rehabilitation team. Her caseload focuses on treating adults and adolescents with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and neurological disorders. Lauren serves as a clinical instructor for students of physical therapy and mentors new clinicians. Her special interest include Body Weight Support Treadmill Training and Sexuality after SCI. In 2020, Lauren presented at the Advancing Clinical Practice (ACP) in Spinal Cord Injury: Pre-conference on Sexuality after SCI at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX. Lauren is also a valuable member of the Locomotor team and interview committee at TIRR MH IPR, Sponsorship chair for the TPTA Southeastern District and APTA member.
