In this talk, I will examine how expectations shape recovery trajectories after musculoskeletal injury, how they are measured, and why they are critical predictors of outcomes like pain, disability, and return to work. We will also explore what current research tells us about how to modify expectations in clinical practice, and where the field is headed next. Whether you're a clinician, researcher, or student, this talk offers insights into a powerful but often overlooked driver of recovery.
