Director of Clinical Education and Instructor
Seton Hall University
My clinical experience has been focused on assessment and treatment of the pediatric population, gaining experience across various settings including schools, early intervention, and private practice. My main areas of interest include oral language, written language, social communication, articulation and phonology, and cognition and how these areas impact academic achievement. I worked as a school-based speech-language pathologist in the New York City Department of Education, supporting students with diverse needs to access the curriculum in their classrooms. Beyond clinical work, I had the opportunity to learn from teachers and various providers, lead professional development, and serve as a liaison between the school and the district. Throughout both my clinical and leadership roles in the school-based setting, I anchored my approach in collaboration with colleagues, administration, and families to ensure student growth.
I began my work in higher education as an adjunct faculty member in the Speech-Language Pathology Department at Kean University and course facilitator with Emerson College’s online Communication Disorders program, teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses. At Kean University, I worked as a clinical supervisor, mentoring graduate students completing their first clinical experiences with both pediatric and adult clients in an on-campus clinic setting. I also had the opportunity to engage with The Raising Families Project, a grant-funded initiative allowing graduate students from various professions including speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychology to serve local families through an interprofessional therapy model. Being part of an interprofessional team aligned with my overall emphasis on collaboration within my clinical work while allowing me to continue to build capacity of graduate students through effective clinical supervision.
Currently, I am the Director of Clinical Education at Seton Hall University, continuing to expand on the clinical foundations of graduate students through a collaborative approach to shape future clinicians in our field.
