Martha is a 24-year-old student from Dubuque, Iowa. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa where she studied and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
During her time at the University of Iowa she worked as a rehab aide at Athletico Physical Therapy where she assisted the therapists and helped their patients recover from their injuries and regain strength and mobility.
Since completing her degree at the University of Iowa, she began her graduate degree at Des Moines University (DMU) to pursue a doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Currently at DMU she is an active member in the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA), and a volunteer at Unity Point Hospital where she gets to visit children in their rooms and play games with them. Her current research involvement at DMU includes her research over understanding intimate partner violence from the perspective of women who have experienced homelessness.
