Vanessa Errisuriz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at Santa Clara University. Dr. Errisuriz’s research uses a socioecological-based approach to identify determinants of obesity that contribute to the disproportionate risk and development of obesity-related chronic disease among minority and underserved populations. She is especially interested in designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based interventions using participatory research methods and implementation science frameworks to address obesity among Latino populations. She received her Ph.D. in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s in Health Psychology from Texas State University - San Marcos, and a bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
