Sandra Walsh is Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) who practices clinically in the respiratory care of patients in the Spinal Cord Rehab Program at Lyndhurst, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute at University Health Network.
She spent many years as a clinician in acute care, pulmonary rehabilitation and as a Practice Leader within UHN and has taken on a practice primarily in the assessment and treatment of individuals with respiratory dysfunction after spinal cord injury. She works with an interprofessional team to optimize the respiratory health and management of patients, which includes secretion clearance therapies, respiratory muscle training and non-invasive ventilation. She provides education to clinical staff, students, patients and their families and caregivers in the use of various interventions and best practices to support long term respiratory health.
