Dr. Haomin Hu is a Research Scientist, Program Manager, and Senior Software Developer in the Department of Health Information Management and the Healthy Home Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. With a strong interdisciplinary background in healthcare technology, his research focuses on designing and evaluating innovative AI and digital health solutions aimed at improving the self-management capabilities of older adults, individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities, and their family caregivers. In addition, he investigates the application of smart home technologies to promote safe and independent aging in place among older populations. Dr. Hu has extensive experience in developing technology-driven interventions tailored specifically to support vulnerable groups in managing their health conditions effectively. His ongoing projects reflect an interdisciplinary approach combining health informatics, software development, Internet of Things engineering, and user-centered design methodologies.
