Anne Galvin, MS, CCC-SLP, is a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist and Clinical Educator for the Brain Innovation Center at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, Illinois. With over a decade of clinical experience across a variety of clinical settings and patient populations, Anne has developed clinical expertise in the management of neurogenic cognitive-communication disorders and dysphagia, particularly for individuals presenting with complex rehabilitation needs. In her position as Clinical Educator, Anne acts as a leader and mentor to clinicians across allied health disciplines.
In her clinical role, Anne serves as an expert clinician specializing in the care of patients following stroke, traumatic brain injury, and with neuro-oncology diagnoses. Over the course of her career, Anne has delivered lectures covering a diverse set of clinical topics, including management of right hemisphere dysfunction, unique aspects of care for patients with oncology diagnoses, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the rehabilitation setting. Anne is a member of several teams seeking to improve patient care and enhance clinical outcomes, including the AbilityLab’s Mobile Cancer Team, Dysphagia Committee, and the Staff Development Team.
In her role as a mentor and educator, Anne shows resolute dedication to advancing the field of allied health, avidly working to develop skilled, autonomous clinicians through comprehensive instruction and mentorship. A key aspect of Anne’s work includes recent contributions to the development of a robust onboarding curriculum aimed at equipping new clinicians with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to make informed and judicious clinical decisions across routine and highly complex patient care scenarios. Anne is committed to cultivating the next generation of allied health professionals to facilitate the continued growth and evolution of the rehabilitation field.
