Ava-Kathleen Rybicki M.A. is a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania and an OMS-1 Medical Student at the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine. While completing her M.S. in Nutrition Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Ava was awarded as the Joann Nallinger Endowed Fellow for her original research work investigating malnutrition risk and food insecurity in Emergency Department patients. While completing her post-baccalaureate pre-medical certificate at the University of Pennsylvania, Ava-Kathleen served as a student chair for Wellness Initiatives and volunteered as a surgical patient liaison. Prior to joining Penn, Ava served as a Resident Director at Rowan University, where she earned her M.A. Wellness and Lifestyle Management and B.A. Geographical Science. Ava also previously worked as an Emergency Department Clinical Researcher at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and in patient care at the Gloucester County Department of Health for three years. Ava-Kathleen co-authored New Jersey Naloxone Distributions and Training Guide (2020) and COVID-19 Response Guide for Physicians and All Healthcare Professionals (2020), along with a series of expected publications on the topic of long-COVID interventions and nutritional statuses in urban emergency department patients.
