Kara Mennella received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Tulsa in May of 2025. She minored in Audiology and Speech Pathology as well as Health Sciences. Through her minor, she became involved in research at the Concussion Center at The University of Tulsa. During her time there, she researched the relationship between concussions and auditory dysfunction, specifically sound tolerance conditions. She completed a literature review examining how concussions impact sound tolerance conditions and the best ways to assess and treat such conditions. She is currently helping out with the pilot study that is examining sound tolerance conditions in individuals with a concussion to help understand correlates that may impact overall quality of life, such as experiencing insomnia, depression, or anxiety.
