James H. Rimmer, PhD, is the first Lakeshore Foundation Endowed Chair in Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and director of the UAB Center for Engagement in Disability Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (CEDHARS). He is a Professor in the School of Health Professions, Department of Occupational Therapy, and has an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the School of Medicine. Rimmer is PI and Director of the CDC-funded National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). His research career has focused on developing and implementing health promotion programs for children and adults with disabilities in community and home-based settings.
